The very heart of this boundless expanse of smooth, glassy blackness raised an exiguous island of satiny ignecious rock. It had rings of sediment engraved in it which on close observation had a soporific effect. At the periphery of the island, a spiral staircase of dull gray stone ascended. It had no railings and was very narrow. Its other origin was unfathomable as the atmosphere of velvety darkness consumed it. More to the core of the island, was the cerebrum of this landscape of misery. From the rock, a cadaverous, yet royal throne arched, imposing in its presence. Its torso had lines etched from the fringes, converging at the center, not unlike how the human ribs appear from a distance. The seat was flat and the base was covered by drapes of thick moldy seaweed that had no obvious origin on the seat. The crest was U-shaped with the two apexes arching so much that they almost touched each other, so that it formed a hallow around the head of the one seated. All through this ark, an inscription was engraved on the stone. It read “………fill this in later…”
All this was however obscured, for upon the throne seated exalted with the same effortless grace, he sat. He did not speak. Yet an occasional whisper was carried through the blanket of mist.
The things that followed were to become legend. It was then that he gave a speech that would be long remembered. For eternity, in fact, for then, he affirmed his incontrovertible genius with iron-fist using his manipulative magniloquence and tactical brilliance.
